Spellings for Monday 16th January, homework and Flipped Learning

Hi All,

Homework

Literacy: This week we have revised how to use commas correctly. To practise this, have a go at correcting the pages of grammatically incorrect celebrity tweets.

Maths: To strengthen your arithmetic skills, you have been given an arithmetic task to complete. Include jottings/working out where appropriate.

Flipped Learning Maths Games

Check out your Mangahigh login for a times and divide by 10 / 100 / 1000 challenge game to keep your skills up! If you have any log-in / computer problems just let your teacher know and we will see what we can do… We are expecting this to be done by Tuesday next week as this is part of your homework too!

Bonus Flipped Learning

Next week, we will be rieminding ourselves about percentages and the equivalence between fractions, decimals and percentages. Being able to find a fraction of an amount it a key Year 6 skill. Therefore to remind you of how to do this have a watch of this video… and remember what Mrs Williams showed you. As an added bonus it even tells you how to calculate a percentage on a calculator too!

For those looking for some added practice of their percentages through some games have a look at:
